MAIZ PIRA corn to burn in the pyre (bonfire) is a corn from the plant of the genus zea, whose species mays is the only one that is a commercial cereal and edible by humans and animals, of high nutritional value. In Spain it has varied names according to the regions : threads, tostones, roses, rosettes, rositas, buffaloes, truffles, palometas, crispetes, kripetak, millo flocos, straws, palometes, catufes.
